Reverend Jesse Jackson Sr Stands with District Attorney Chesa Boudin

San Francisco – Civil rights champion Reverend Jesse Jackson Sr voiced his support for District Attorney Chesa Boudin – and opposition to recall attempts – in a letter released today.

Reverend Jackson has spent decades fighting for civil rights, voting rights and criminal justice reform. As the Founder and President of the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, he has been on the forefront of efforts to promote equality, inclusion and unity, including during a recent visit to San Francisco’s Chinatown to stand in solidarity with the Asian American Pacific Islander community. He was joined at those events by DA Boudin.

In a recent letter to Boudin, Reverend Jackson voiced his continuing support for justice reform and police accountability and District Attorney Boudin.

“We have watched closely how you have served and supported the fair and just implementation of the justice system, and yet many people are looking for ways to question and undermine your efforts. It is apparent that there are other agendas at work,” wrote Reverend Jackson. “We stand with you and against any recall of your position. It is our hope that you will continue to serve the constituents of the City and County of San Francisco well, and that our priorities to promote fairness, justice and quality will continue to be upheld.”
